Where to find yew bushes?
« on: April 25, 2011, 04:53:49 pm »
Anybody know any common places to use yew bushes as landscaping? I've been yew lusting lately...

They are pretty common in the landscape trade. Check some of your local nurseries or landscape companies.

Depends on where you live.  Here in Okla. they need afternoon shade during the summer.  The further north you go the less afternoon shade required.  Like Pat B said, check with your local nurseries for best results.

You mean like, buy a yew bush to use as a bow wood? I don't think they would sell big enough bushes to make bows? I live outside cincinnati ohio. I've heard that sometimes they plant them in cemetary's...

I know cemetaries plant alot of them, especially in europe. see if your local cemetary has any an offer to help trim them they would more than likely be happy to help you.
