51" Osage D-Bow (First Shooter Bow)
« on: April 23, 2011, 09:02:36 pm »
After breaking two red oak board bows i finally succeeded with some osage :)
The bow is 51" tip to tip, tapers from 1 1/8" at the handle to 3/8" tips
7/16" thinks fading to 1/4" tips with 1/4" eastern red cedar overlays
The draw is 55# at 22" with a snakey profile and propellar twist on the top limb
Bow shoots crazy fast for the size of the bow and how much it weighs, which is well under a pound

Thanks to HickoryBill for teaching me how to make a bow and with the doing most of the finish work since i didnt have the snake skin, which is bullsnake....enjoy!

good looking bow. makes the failures with the red oak less painful doesn't it. :)
