Beautiful work on beautiful stone! The colored areas on that stone look like they are healed fractures. Is that what causes it?

thanks guys.not sure what causes the different colors but the blend of colors will seep into the fractures. another blade im working on is almost all yellow except a purple tip. its amazing how the color changes each time you remove a flake. in order to keep a certain feature you have to plan each flake so you dont remove to much color. the yellow and white band near the tip of this piece was an awesome bullseye. a couple more thinning flakes and it became a stripe. aside from a couple stacks i had to remove i dont think this particular stone would work any easier if it was heated. ive also been working cowboys rock too so maybe it just seems easier.  ;D

tower those are beauts. that one with the serrations is wicked. thatll leave a mark. i finished up a small knife last night and another point. ill biface a few more and then heat em to see how it affects it. ive worked heated mook and raw mook before. this chunk of rock just seems to work fine as is but i'll heat some up.
