Where would be the best place to make a flint run?

If you could take a week off to make a flint run, where would you go? What type of flint would you look for? Just interested in your thoughts.

I would depend on if you wanted to be adventurous or go where it's known. The only place I know of that I can find it, is Flint Ridge Ohio. I would also read as many past posts on the subject and hopefully get some tips.
On the adventure side, Georgia, West Virginia, Tennessee and Kentucky all hold some good rock if you can find it. NC has some good rock as you know, but that has seemed to be an "adventurous option" also, at least to me.

 I'd call Mr Parker at Magnet Cove in Arkansas and set up a trip to head out there and load up on novaculite.
But your have to cook it and it need to go up to atleast 650* and 700* is best.
 Flint ridge is a good bet also, but thats very hard work if done by hand.
 Looking for ft payn in middle TN is also a good bet.

Rootbeer chert is my favorite, so I would go wherever I could get a great big batch of it.  Maybe around Kerville, TX?  I've worked some colorful agates and love the stuff, so that would be my second choice.  I like the raw stuff the best, in any case.

a guy i know here in minnesota,that knapps,asked me if i wanted to do that very thing the summer of 2012
he wants to go there and to the keokuk quarry
so i am already saving up my share of the gas and rock money
hes got a kiln and offered to heat it all,works for me

Maybe not that much. i'd think 800 would pay for all the rock youd have room for and cover food and gas.
