Finished up my second bow. Its another Red Oak Board Bow.
This one is 68in N-T-N and it draws 51# at 27in.
The limbs are 1.5in wide outside the handle and tapers from mid limb to 1/2in at the nocks.
The handle wrap is an egg tanned squirrel hide and the silencers are made from one squirrel tail split and wrapped into the string fresh. Then as the "green" tail dries and hardens it will lock itself into the string.
Here is the handle before and after the squirrel cover.
Hope you guys like it. I left the lower limb 1/2in closer at mid-limb to the string on both of my bows per instructions from TBB vol III to prevent lower limb set. This bow only has 30 arrows through it aft the limbs were worked in but the Pyramid bow I posted yesterday now has a few hundred shots at full draw and has only 1/2in of set when first unstrung.
Bow number three will come this weekend. Its gonna be a silver maple pyramid bow that will draw 50-55# at 28in.
