I orginally made this bow in June, 2003. I was impressed with how easy it was to steam in recurves and couldn't stop. The bow had dramatic recurves but was always unstable, ie., the string would pop off because the tips never aligned.
So I piked it, re-tillered it. And made (finally) a decent Flemish string.
Thanks for the help from many of you - Justin, Mark, J. D. and more. You were right ...I was putting in the final twist the same direction as I was twisting the groups. So it unraveled. My DVD showed how but who follows directions - Not this old Norsky.
Bow is 61 inches NTN, 1 7/8 at the flares, center-shot, and I braided the handle from directions out of an earlier PA article.
Tips are Ipe. Draw weight at 26" is 55 lbs.
It shoots very well. I call it Summer Fire because after I used a favorite paint on it, it tended to glow like fire.
