Last week the postman left a large, long box on my front porch. Inside was a piece of wood carved into an odd, but attractive shape. With the piece of wood was a string which spanned one end of the object to the other in a manner that when the wood object was bent, the string would rest in grooves on either end. A story came with the object as well.
This beautiful wooden object came in a bag of animal hide.
I'm still working on getting some photos taken of it and will update this post when said photos are available.
What is this thing?
Who sent it to me?
Any guesses?
**Update**
You guys knew right away! I guess my clues were too obvious
Anyway, here's the story. Halfeye calls me early last week and we have a nice conversation. He lets me know that the bow would be here by Thursday or Friday. Thursday rolls around (not quickly enough) and I take a break from work to run home to see if the mail had come. Waiting for me was a large box!
And I know you are all waiting for picts, so here they are:
Bow strung:
The decorations on the back of the bow. Can anyone decipher them? Hint: it's a story and it isn't in English:
And of course the full draw photos!!
It draws and shoots like a longbow, which is really darn impressive!! I love it, halfeye makes some rockin' bows! THANK A BUNCH
