About 325 yards with a 50# bow and a 300 grain arrow and about 230 yards with 55# bow and a hunting weight arrow of about 520 grains, these were measured distances

fishfinder, I'm with you, I love to go out to an open field and just send the arrows flying!

Unfortunately, I neither have a very accurate method of measuring, but probably about 250 yards with a #50 rockelm long bow.

Noel. I've had several bows that have shot that far over the years

Ken. It was a selfbow but with a target arrow.  A broadhead arrow would not go as far.

Back in 79 I shot a 8 point 56 yards in the white spot. Put my 40 yard pin top of his head. This was when I younger and into  head counts. My longest recuve was also and 8 point 25 yards on a dryed up rim of a pond standing on his hind feet makeing a scrape. Longest long bow shot was 18 yards 6 point troting. And longest selfbow out of 36 bucks longest was 15 closest was 3. I  use to cast my selfbows, 150 to 200 yards with hunting arrows with broad heads. Once saw a guy shoot 854 yards with a 93 pound high country. Don't remember the arrow grain.
Had many hunting rifles and built 6 bench rest rifles regurely shot 200 to 1000 yards.

that is around full draw, i didnt want to push ot while inside, its made of osage, ill measure the dimensions when i get home, it may be under 150 a little i havnt been able to measure it yet, but from the feel of it, its somewhere in that neighborhood. if it was longer, i would pull it to my full 32, but the bow is too short and i just pull what feel scomfortable with it.

Popped a few rounds down range at about 1000 meters with this sucker (see below).  With a bow?  Not so much.   ;D

I try to flight test my selfbows as a cheap and fun way to measure performance against my old 65# Bear Kokiak recurve.  I was confident hunting anything with the Bear bow so it seemed like a good measuring stick.  With my 500 - 530 grain arrows I was able to shoot the Bear 215 paces (my paces are very close to yards).  With my favorite osage flatbow - 65 inches tip to tip, 63# at 27, I shoot consistently in the 210 range.  With a 71 inch hickory longbow (58#) I have shot 190 . . . but I think that was a bit wind aided.
