Alabama Ice Pick.....(not for bom)
« on: March 09, 2011, 08:30:50 pm »
Hillbilly 61 sent me a glued up piece of boo on some Ipe....here's what I made out of it. 56" ttt, 52# @ 27". 3/4" wide tapering to 5/16 tips....draws smooth and shoots real quick. Dont mind the snow, just another 6" we're gettin today. Oh ya, the name just seemed right cause it's small, skinny, and way deadly.....thanks Mark seems like yer wood dont mind the cold too much.

Hope ya like, thanks for lookin. PS: dont know for sure about a grip wrap yet.....none, rattan, leather? aint decided. Oh ya, the bow's mass weight is 10-1/2 ounces.

That is my favorite bow you've posted.  What a beautiful, sleek, small package with an excellent tiller!  Thanks for sharing.

Looks nice Rich... I got one coming out soon that is 62" Ntn Hick backed Ipe that is around that narrow.  My tiller doesn't look this good though... Nice work.  :)

Doesn't take much Ipe to make a nice bow does it?  :)

Man I betcha that is a fast bow. That narrow and 52# has got to make really nice cast, Sweet bow rich!

Sure thank ya for the kind words, this is the second one of these I made the other was a 60# short bow hick backed Ipe they are very basic but damned solid, tough, and really speedy. I did post a pic of that bow maybe a year ago or so...
