Mulberry paddle bow in progress...

There is no way  to get this cheap camera to take pictures that aren't blurry to I took a video instead, heres the link:

Only got one real knot. Made this one with the sapwood on, just now getting er to floor tiller, very very light but very strong. About 56" tip to tip, probably 53" or so nock to nock. About 3" or 4" natural reflex. Will be sinewed this month with dog treats ( :) ) or next month maybe...

Looks interesting.  I am detaling a really brushy blind to hunt from next fall.  It's gonna be a spot, but a 66" bow is a bit much in it.  I may have to make one of those.  Looks like a nice start to a fun project.

Ya, I plan on sinew backing either this month or next month. I got another short molly I plan on backing as well, so it might be one or the other. I also have some nice nettle fiber I could use to back one of em with, but I would rather use sinew.

I have always wanted to shoot a paddle bow.   They are such interesting bows.   Cant wait to see the finished product.

Naw, it was just was like that. It actually has some twist in it too on one limb, kinda reminiscent of that twisty bow posted a while back, hope that works out. I was thinking of backing this bow with sinew, and the other short mollegabet with nettle, but use sinew glue on both. At first I was thinking of using tightbond on the nettle backing. But then I have read accounts that using tightbond with sinew did not give the same results like reflex when drying as much as using the traditional hide glue, so I figured I might as well use hide glue (sinew glue) for the nettle backed one too. Haven't got what I want to do carved out in stone or anything, but this is what is on my mind currently. So I guess I am going to be "dog treat" backing a bow, with "dog treat" glue, lol I will surely let yall know how that goes. :)
