I have a buddy named Josh that has recently become interested in primitive archery. This weekend I went to his house to help coach him in the ways of bow building. He caught on quick and soon had a nice red oak board well on the way to being his first bow. It's 72 tip to tip,1.5 inches wide fading to 1/2 inch tips. it pulls about 47# @ 26" right now. Got about 2 inches more to tiller for a 28" draw. I was working on a hickory flatbow in between helping him. We had great time and I am looking forward to next weekend. I'm gonna help him finish his bow up and help another guy get one started.
Here we are a' scraping away(I'm wearing the red shirt)

Here's the tiller stick Josh made and his bow at 23 inch draw( We got the tiller straightened out)
