things ive made recently
« on: March 06, 2011, 05:01:44 pm »
well i hvaent been doing alot of knapping or anything as of late
hands seem to hurt to much most days  :-[
but that aside i still do get the urge and manage to occaisonlly knock out a couple of decent ones
i was at a knapp in here in minnesota a couple weeks back adn got some more rock  ;D
a little bit of differant types of novaculite, flintridge, mooserkite, and one of my favs keokuk
i didnt buy much of the mooserkite or flintridge as inever used and wasnt sure if i would liek it or not
havent had any lck with the flintridge as of yet, keeping breaking them
nut i did manage i nice little scottsbluff (i believe ) from the mooserkite
a couple of decent daltons from the keokuk
i small basal notched point from some of the multi colored novaculit, and a hillsboro(i beleive) from some keokuk
and the other two on the far right, the keokuk and the multi colored novaculite one
are both done with all anlter tools
moose billet for percussion work, whitetail deer tine for pressure flaking and edge and notching work
these two i am proud of as i think i did wll getting them thin for all antler work
heres some pics
thanks for looking

Beauties Tim, well done.

Bowmakers are a little bent, but knappers are just plain flaky.

Those look real nice Tim.

Knapping is one thing I have never attempted, but seeing those is pretty good motivation to try it!

Nice points and interesting colors. I also like the Daltons.
There are no bad knappers, only bad flakes

That is some nice work Tim! I like the variety you got there..
