The full-draw pic looks really good!  I'm impressed with what some of you guys are doing with RedOak.

Nice bow Josh!  I've had trouble trying to recurve board bows like that in the past and kinda gave up on it.  I think I've figured out a way to do it right now.  Working on a technique for my bow trade, we'll see.  Great job!

It's always amazing when you see a recurved red oak board bow. Always seems like it would be impossible to bend wood like that without breaking, very very nice job on those recurves, amazing.
"The way of heaven is like the bending of a bow-
the upper part is pressed down,
the lower part is raised up,
the part that has too much is reduced,
the part that has too little is increased."

Nice recurve Josh! Your tiller looks spot-on. How did you induce the curves? Dry heat, steam?

Looks great! I'm working on my first recurved red oak board bow in between other projects right now, so it is very comforting to see someone else's success!

thanks guys!  I steamed the curves in using a big pot and aluminum foil.  I took some better pics today maybe you can actually see the bow in these, LOL.

excellent bow Josh. Great profile, great looking curves and the tiller is perfect. I've never worked oak but it looks great to work with. Congratulations

Oh just realized these full draws are a few inches short... Must've been an auto-timer miscalculation on my part... ;D

Beautiful Josh. I have had only two experiences with Red oak. One blew up ( too dry? ) and the other was a lower weight womens bow that was ok. It just goes to show ya that in the hands of a patient and skilled bowyer it will make a meat maker.   Danny
