Hey guys....
I just finished roughing out a small oak bow that I want to turn into a Seneca bow replica. The examples of Seneca bows I have seen have had scalloped edges. What I was wondering is when you tiller these bows do you leave the areas that are scalloped stiff? Or do you make those areas thinner than the rest of the bow limb to get them bending evenly? The scallops that I have roughed out are about 1/4 of an inch tall and the bow is 48" long. I think that there is four scallops per limb. What would you guys suggest for tillering this little bow? I am shooting for 45# at 23"...
