« on: February 21, 2011, 11:22:30 am »
ok, ive tried everything that i can think of and some of my fletching is still coming loose.
i use duco cement, rough up the area, all are wood, some painted,
some dipped in water based floor finish, some raw or stained.
use a commercial(blitzenberger) jig
leave em at least 15-20 minutes.
and still a few pop loose

When I was making cedars I only used water based poly and did my fletching with Duco and never had a problem. Have you tried fletch tape? I also had good luck with it.

I've had occasional problems using Duco on water based varnish.  I switched to using super glue for fletching jobs.  Ron

I've tried all the glues out there.  When I went to Bohning Fletching tape I'll never look back.  I can do a dozen arrows up in an hour.  The tape seems to stick to all finishes so far that I've used.  I use the tape on all arrows I make now.

I like the tape too.  I think Three Rivers Archery sells it, they are a sponsor too.  I get mine locally or I would order it from them.
