source for rivercane

hey guys,i need some rivercane shafts suitible for a 60- 65 spine range.does anyone know where i can get some quick.i am tring to get some nice arrows made up for when i go down to the tenn. classic this april.it will be my first time going.i want to show up with some nice arrows for my selfbows.any help will be greatly appreciated.thanks,steve

someone might have some, but if you cut your own now, it probably wont be dry enough, since its rather cool outside still.  ive got some that i cut back in december, and they are only about half dry.

David Knight can set you up with some very nice Tonkin cane shafts or arrows. He'll be at the classic too so you can show him what you made from his shafts.  ;D

Hey seabass,
       You can also PM Mark (hillbilly 61) I know he's got a good supply of cane all the way up to 100#.

i haven't got the cane yet.when i do recieve it,i'll get right on them.i'll also get right on learning how to post some pics.this will be my first year making my own bows and i what to show my progress.

Thats great!  Im up to 10 working bows now,6 broken!  Now im concentrating on arrow making.Im starting with dowels,then ill move to rivercane.

10 bows is a great feat.i am the opposite,i have made many arrow.i have made only one board bow.i got in a hurry and it developed a severe hinge in one limb.i can't wait to make arrows from the cane.i have used bamboo,but haven't tried the cane shafts.i'll try and post some pics when i get them made,steve

i too make more arrows than i do bows!  still working on consistancy.  but, good luck with the cane, its much like bamboo
