Thickness- To thick?

This is 13/16" thick, is it too thick? Do I need to take some off the belly for it to bend properly?

Probably, but we need more info.
Is it an ELB (English Longbow) what whood is it, how long, what is your target draw length and weight.
If you provide that information, someone will be able to give you rough dimensions  for guidance.

Which way are you planning to bend it?  You would be better served if you leave a tip wider(3/4" to 1") until you get to low brace height. It helps to make adjustments after you brace the bow for the first time and  helps to keep things straighter when you have to bend wood also.
  What will be your ultimate tip measurements(Width and Thickness)?  What wood?

It's hickory, 72" long, my target draw weight is 50 lbs. , my draw is 28".

You can get the tips down to 1/2" or slightly thicker.
