now i am subject to correction but expensive and/or inexpensive yew is still going to run you some money.  most any site that i ever researched concerning yew, shows me that it is more than i am willing to pay.  i have heard that more suitable substitute, money wise and appearance, would be hickory backed osage.  good luck in your endeavours, though.

Honestly,.... I don't think there is such a thing.  However, in dealing with "good" wood,... it is often true (but not always mind you), that you get what you pay for.

There are some people offering yew that I've heard may as well be better used as a fence post than a bow,...and STILL pricey!  Hence, a quick buck via fooling someone into thinking they got something good for their money. :(

It all depends on your budget.  I'm sure the fellas on here will directly you in the right path and maybe you'll be able to put some yew into your hands sooner rather than later! ;)

if your lucky someone in the trade section on here might sometimes trade for some that will probly be your cheapest bet. unless you cut your own but then you have to fine it.
