POPE and YOUNG ARCHERY pics
« on: February 20, 2011, 12:47:10 am »
some on here asked if i would post some more pics from the musuem here in minnesota
wi'll post some of what i think are the best and show the most

this musuem has a mount of every world record animal taken with a bow
but didnt realy take pics of that, sorry but you all have seen pics of them i am sure
i will start with some pics of ISHI's stuff
it was realy neat seeing his handy work
but not all of it what yo would call exceptional work
after all his main reason for making them were survival, not display
the much "nicer looking" pieces were usually made for friends of his once he came to live
in modern society
heres the pics of his now

this bow wasnt one of Ishis's,but one from a a very close tribe the Yana

please hold all comments, as i add another post with more pics  ;)
thanks for looking

great pics tim. friend of mine is big with pope and young and made a plaque of the logo. next time you go there if you see a logo with an oversized arrow behind it, i knapped it.  ;D  same friend told me if i ever wanted to go to pope and young to see anything but the primitive stuff not to bother. he has the same collection of recurves and broadheadss in his basement!! love the pic of ishi point all by it self.

pictures are awesome, thanks for posting! How long did it take for you to leave? I think I would go through once and want to start right back at the beginning.

Great Pictures, Tim! Thanks. Now you have me wanting to dig out the 4 rolls of pictures I took at the Bear Museum before they closed and sold most of the bows.

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?
