Bow Blank Makeover
« on: February 16, 2011, 01:00:11 am »
I had gotten a 'bow blank' from the dealer nobody seems to care for some time ago. Had not really liked it when I got it so just shelved it. Then Ken75's hickory bow got me rethinking and the post compairing it to the holmi gave me an idea. so tonight I drew out the new bow on the old blank and cut it out. like the looks a lot better. 60" tip to tip. hickory. i will be adding a glued backing as soon as I can talk Murry out of some. ;)

Here are the 'before' & 'after' pics.

Very cool!  Making what you need with what you have. That's what it is all about.  8)

Is it really an addiction? I mean, I have only 4 bows in active stages and only looking at a single stave, and just planning on the all wood TD I want to build, and just driving to MO this weekend to cut some wood, and..

OK, maybe I have a problem ;D

it only becomes a problem when you're wife tells you it's a problem ;D
