I've noticed that some of you have used leather dye to color bows. I've never used it and would like to know what the advantages or disadvantages are compared to other stains or dyes on light colored woods. Thanks.

I have used the alcohol based leather dyes a lot. They will not cloud up the grain like some stains and are compatable with any finish that I have tried.

I also use leather stains almost exclusively and I love how even they go on, but mostly I LOVE how quickly they dry.
