Rivercane Dye?

What natural dye could be made this time of year dye river cane with? I plan to make a river cane quiver and want to dye it a darker color. I have read walnuts but this time of year they are rotten and I don't think they would be much use. Sorry I didn't know which forum to put it in so I figured that some of y'all use natural dyes on your bows. Thanks everyone.

River cane is difficult to dye unless you scrape off the outer "skin".  JMO.

You can use food coloring as a natural dye.  I've also seen people use cool-aid.  You can also extract a yellow dye from osage sawdust and shavings.  Coffee, beet juice, and soy sauce are good dyes as well.  The list goes on... ;D

PHEW.....I thought I was in a "one man only club" for a minute....LOL.  All 61 years of my life and never heard that.  Wonder how the conversation would go if you told someone your were going "Odocoileus virginianus "  hunting.  I can even see a good smack for that one....lol.
