what type of fletching?

i was wondering if it would be fine to fletch an arrow with just 2 longer feather,, maybe 7-8 inches instead of the normal 3 and would it be fine to use super glue to attach, along with wrapping the points

There is no "standard" for fletching arrows...you can use four,five,six feathers...doesn't matter.

I prefer two fletch arrows over three...just more economical to me.  More arrows per feather.

Most of mine are between 4-5" long.  Some straight...some with some twist.

ok thanks, i have mostly seen three and wasn't sure if it would be OK, i am also using it with a 100lb longbow, does that change anything? and is the super glue fine?

You can do three small feathers like the tangential 3 fletch...


or two long feathers like this Eastern Woodland 2 fletch...


...or a combo like these...


...or these...

the reason i wanted to do 2 is because i have 12 shafts and found a set of 24 nice feathers

Check the "How To" section. There are lots of examples of different fletching styles. Do a little reading and viewing there and you should get some good ideas.  Also, do a search in the "Arrow" section.

Fish. I use Superglue gel on mine. I have been gluing thie tip middle and end just to hold them down. I then spiral wrap them down with small thread (silk) Then wrap the top and bottom of the fletch with sinew.

Just curious- do you put the spiral wrap for looks?  I glue them on the sinew the ends and that's it.

 Actually, if you take the time and tune your arrows, you won't need fletching. ;)

The spiral wrapped 2fletch was done by Art Butner, the tangential 3 fletch was done by James Parker and I did the rest. I don't use a spiral wrap on mine. Only forward and aft wraps.
