Here are the last three bows I have made. They are (from left to right): hickory-backed yellowheart; bamboo-backed rosewood (morado); bamboo-backed ipe. All are around 67" n2n and 50-52lbs @28. I really like these tropical woods. They make a beautiful bow and are tough - take very, very little set. But they take a lot of work when you only have hand tools (i own no power tools) and dull tools more easily. They require a lost of rasping and scaping. I think I am going to go back to the oaks and maples for a while. Easier on the tools, and on me!
