New osage bow
« on: January 31, 2011, 11:40:56 pm »
I just finished up a couple of osage bows this week that I started last winter...this summer kept me to busy to make shavings and deer season just finished up here in my neck of the woods so I thought id try and finish up what i started...one for me and one for my brother. This one is 64" NTN drawing 52#@28"  I had some trouble last winter aligning the tips with dry heat on the limbs so I tried steam bending the handle section which worked well but caused some unsightly checks on the back in the the handle section, nothing to worry about though. Also the slight prop twist and heat induced reflex of 3" or so made this one a real challenge to tiller. This bow is a shooter...my most accurate to date.
