So I had some time to kill this afternoon and had the urge to "create", so I thought I'd try my hand at doing some leatherwork. I bought a bunch of carving/stamping tools from Tandy a while ago and had not used them yet, so I figured I'd have a go at trying to do some tooling on a new arm guard. At first I was making it for my dad to go along with the bow that I gave him for Christmas, but I think it turned out so nice, he'll have to use my old one
I didn't think to start taking pictures until after the tooling was done, but there are a few pictures showing what I used and the progression as I stained the leather. I still have to put a sealer on it and then install the boot hooks and elastic cord, so I'll add another pic once it's totally done. I think it turned out pretty good for going into it blind, not having tooled or stained leather before.
