Is it possible for Ipe to dry out to much being it is a tropical wood?

I doubt it would be very easy for it to get too dry. I use it a lot, I'm not in the driest place in the US but we still are pretty dry here. Never had a problem with it. Only failures I've had were from bad backing strips.

Using heat to try to bend it I have gotten it to dry, but I don't think it will get to dry on its own. I have left it in the dry on purpose and not had a problem. I even checked it with a moisture meter and it didn't drop below 9%MC.
