trapping the back would only increase stress on it.  Those Vs have the possibility of lifting up like a stack of papers.  I'd back it with wood or set it aside for later when you can back it with wood.

Ok, thanks for the info, maybe I'll set 'er aside I suppose until I get the hickory or walnut stripped up to 3/16.  Have a walnut Mollegabet going on too, better grain for the most part...I suppose I'll have to put up more pictures!  Baaaagh.  Appreciate the feedback aznboi
