osage selfbow christmas present for my son
« on: December 27, 2010, 02:54:51 pm »
i built this osage selfbow for my son in december. it took 3 weeks and is the best bow i have built so far.
the bow is 55 inches ntn, and pulls 25lb at 21 inches. which worked out to be a real good weight for him.
i stained it with med brown leather dye, 3 coats of linseed, 3 coats tru oil, 3 coats of gunstock wax.
the tip overlays are made from a powder horn cutoff.
he was hitting the target and got a bullseye within the 1st 10 shots. he was all smiles shooting it christmas eve

Good looking bow. He should be proud of that one for a long time.

r,
excellent bow sir, in all respects. Doing something with your son tops all of it though.
