Burls

I collected several nice burls.  How are you suppose to seal them so they do not check?  I cut the limbs off with the burls and cut off the limb to each side- should I just seal the ends?  One is about the size of a football- should it go ahead and cut it in half?  Thanks for any help!

Yep ! seal all the cut ends. let them set around outside in a dry place for a year, then bring them in for a year and they should be pretty good.  '  Frank

If you hold your mouth just right when you cut the burls you will have good looking women knock on your door. I made this bowl about ten years ago.

Nice dish...and the bowl of burl is nice too.
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

Hmmm... with that kind of wood, no wonder it attracts women.  ;D

Nice.
