I use the lighter weight burlap ground blind material. I like it. I've read where it might slow a bow down a bit, but i don't care about that. I've never had one break with it on there, so couldn't help you there. I had a friend that kept hearing a light cracking noise on his heavy weight, burlapped backed red oak. He put the bow in the pully type tillering tree, and pulled until it broke, and the burlap just allowed the limb to just break over, but stayed together by the burlap. He said he had another that broke, and the burlap ripped in half, letting the limb fly off. Good luck.
