Prayers for my father
« on: December 10, 2010, 11:40:48 pm »
My Dad had a flight booked for Sunday to come down for a 2 week visit.  Unfortunately his defibrillator went off tonight and wouldn't stop going off.  They are saying it's not a heart attack but they aren't sure what it is only that it's not good.  He's been in poor health for years and was told 6 years ago that he wasn't going to make it out of the hospital, well he's a stubborn man and is still here but as stubborn as he is I'd sure like some help from the Man upstairs.  Your prayers would be appreciated.

Well, the knees on these jeans are already shot...may as well log a little more time down here for his sake.  We are with you, Nathan.

Thanks everyone.

He is stable today but they still don't know what is going on.  I guess that's the most nerve racking part.

I appreciate the thoughts and prayers guys.

Well I got more news.  Basically they are saying that this isn't an acute problem but more an issue of his heart being tired of working.  He had his first heart attack when he was 34 and it's been downhill since then.  So there is nothing they can really do except try to treat the symptoms.   Basically his heart is just simply failing...
We are scraping the bottom of the barrel right now trying to get us flown up there to see him.  It's not for sure yet but I think with the help of friends and family we are going to be able to make it up there.  Flights made on short notice in December aren't cheap :(
