help with kids bows please
« on: December 09, 2010, 11:48:08 pm »
so im trying to squeeze in 2 kids bows for christmas.. i have 2 blanks cut out in a pyramid style2.5 inches at the grip with 4 inch handles glued on. all red oak. i belive they are something around the 55 inch long range.  i geuss what i was wondering was is it possible to make a 40ish lb bow at 25 inches  out of a red oak board? no i didnt follow the growth ring. and i geuss the next question would be is a hickory backing a good solution ? also i cant get the kids to hold on to the bows so i can figure out their hand sizes does anyone have tips to make the handles fit right?
build em...break em...sigh....build em....
