Would like to start a new veterans trend.

I would like to encourage every veteran wear his dog tags visibly on Veteran's day. We need to let the current generation know how many of us stepped up to the plate when our county needed us.

As a non-veteran, I heartily agree.  I would like to know who my heroes are and those whom I need to thank.
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

Alpha Co, 1st Plt 2nd squad 1st Bn 9th Marines, the Walking Dead. Sept.1966- May 1967
My tags were the only thing I had left after they cut my utilities off to find all my wounds. I still have them, taped, strung on boot laces with a p-38 , and crusted with blood and the dirt of Vietnam. They are on a stone altar in my studio. One of the things in my medicine pouch that is always around my neck is a small bit of my dogtags.

Would like to thank Eric for the idea. Searched through the closet and found mine. Got them on today.  :)

I was able to get my idea printed in the local paper. walked through Lowe's, Walmart and Regency Mall to see if any other vets beside myself had their dog tags on. Didn't see a one.

Still think it is a good idea but we need to start spreading the word earlier next year, I bet it will catch on.
