Very Nice Bow but an exceptional #2 bow

by coincidence later that day i was driving around and listening to satellite radio
whne they played a song by GUNs N ROSES,the name of that song was
NOVEMBER RAIN

Hammertime - I believe it's rock maple, but I'm not 100% sure.  It was just called "maple" at Windsor Plywood.

And to everyone else - thanks for your comments.  I love the feedback. 

I put some different bead work on the lace ends because I thought those wood beads (or "things") looked kinda crappy and will get a picture of that up when I get home.  I'm out at dad's farm doing some tree hunting today.  Got 5 or 6 nice chokecherry trees cut that I'm thinking will make excellent bow material, and a couple elm trees that should hopefully make a sh!tload of good staves.  Was hoping to also drop a green ash tree, but couldn't really find one that was straight enough to get a stave without having a splice in the handle.

I'm contemplating redoing the handle wrap too and adding another piece of cork for a shelf on the other side to make it ambidextrous.  We'll see how ambitious I get.

You know I'm going to have to take you up  on that right??  I should be able to bring the chokecherry back in my car.  The elm will have to wait until I can get it brought to the city in a truck.  One of the elm logs is about 9 feet long.  Some of those elm trees sure grow straight!

The tiller on that bow is very good, especially for your first solo effort. I like the beads & pewter feather bling as well. That'll look nice for the auction.

Well the auction for the United Way fundraiser ended today, the winning bid was $120.  I thought that was pretty good, didn't expect to break $100.  But there was a pretty good bidding war going on, and now I have a couple others wanting me to build them a bow.  Darn, I have to build more bows...
