hunting out of a stand?

I concur that most people tend to miss high from a stand but it's not because there is some gravatational reason for the arrow flying high.  The arrow goes where you shoot it.  If you follow the advice above of bending at the waist your form will be the same as on flat ground.  If you don't use proper form then your draw changes.  So, bend at the waist, hit anchor and most importantly - PICK A SPOT - and shoot that spot.  More people miss deer from shoot at deer vs. a spot on the deer than any other reason.  I've missed my fair share over the years and when I do I know what I've done.  I try to pick my spot early and never let my eyes leave it until the shot is complete.

As everyone else said, you'll shoot high if you're not careful, especially if the critter you're shooting at is in close. I whiffed two arrows right over deer's backs a couple weeks ago, they were both almost under me. At fifteen yards I would have probably nailed both.

Will do he changed what I can kill now I get to choose. my selection is any doe "axis,whitetail,or black buck" or a white tail spike or deformed black buck male. So I get just one kill with that  and to top it off asmany hogs I want so I mite take a semiauto rifle after I try with my bow just incase a herd of hogs walk up and I am out of arrows. With a kill or not tomarow will be a great day it will be 29deg in the morning the feeder is 10 yards from the stand that's 15 ft off the ground.

My dad shot a cull buck and I got nothing we had to leave at 10 to go on a service call. I plan to be on stand again around 3 I saw lots of deer but nothing I could shoot. There was two nice does but they stayed out of range behind the trees

Here is how the evening hunt went sad to say no kill. But its all good I am heading to church band practice rite now so il post pics and a short vid I took today later. Il talk to my costumer later I think he will let me go again till I get a kill. TodAy was a grand day ttyl
