Dry weather
« on: November 06, 2010, 02:10:47 am »
we have been having some abnormally dry weather here recently. I pulled a bow out that I had  done a repair on. A splinter lifted on the bamboo. The bow was 57#@ 28" I tillered out away from the splinter a bit and dropped the weight to 50#. This is a bbo, the bow weight went back up to 62# just because the osage dried out. I still can't believe it. I checked an old elm self bow I have been shooting for at least about 8 years now, weight went from 50# to 58#. great weather for breaking bows. Steve

We had our two rainstorms for the year. Probably nothing but dry for the next twelve months.

Steve, we have the opposite of that here in Alabama, most days anyway.
