Flute for iron wood staves
« on: October 25, 2010, 09:02:10 pm »
Hi,

I am looking for two iron wood staves to work on once hunting season is over...hopefully they have been drying a year.  I am willing to swap one of my NA Style flutes in the for the staves.  The flute is Eastern cedar in the key of E and the bird on the flute is deer antler.  It is a fine playing flute.  Tuned on the Pentatonic scale with a digital tuner.  If interested I will send you my flute website to check out my flutes.  I have been making flutes for several years.

Let me know if you are interested,

Rand

I'd trade if I had some, but I've never been able to find a decent ironwood stave that wasn't all twisted and crooked and/or had decay in it.

I got some Ironwood EL. I thought about and and really don't need a flute,If you want I can work something out with you and you can trade for the flute,by the way it is beautiful, thought about it just to hang up in the cabin, can't play it and really don't want to learn, not very good at playing instruments.Believe me I have tried. ;) :) :)

Pappy & El,

I can teach you both to play at the Classic which since I'm not marrying off a daughter this coming Spring like last year...I sure hope to be at.  Sailor...bet you can learn too.  Pat B. was playing his up at the Camp-o-rama and doing great!

So should I send El the flute?  It comes with a Lifetime guarantee unless he backs over it with his truck like a friend did...but that's another story.

I have quite a bit of HHB.  Perhaps we can do a trade if the trade is still on

Just let Marc have this one, maybe El and myself can trade you out of one at the Classic,no shipping that way. :) :) :) That is a beautiful flute and well worth the staves I would think. :)
You can demo it for us also. ;)  :)

OK,

I will bring flutes to the classic and am always up for trades.  I think y'all will be surprised at how easily you can learn the basics of playing these wonderful instruments (not bragging about mine)...just that the NAF is really a wonderful sounding easily learned instrument. (course you have to do some practice).   So maybe I can get a couple of staves to work on this winter from Marc.

Thanks for your interest guys,

Rand
