My first half way decent point.
« on: October 26, 2010, 12:17:56 am »
I have been trying to make a point since the N.C. knap in and have only succeeded in wasting a lot of good rock. I really was anticipating the same with this peace but managed not to break it until I had a chance to snap a few photos. The rock is some Texas. I hope the poor quality and stacked hinge doesn't hurt anyones eyes.

It's better than my first point.  Put that point away, I know lots of knappers who would give a lot to be able to find their first point.  Bill

Man, that makes my first point look completely stupid.  You're on the right track.  That one would work like it means it.  Definitely keep that point to look back on in the future as your skills progress.

That point looks good to me, especially that hard rock.

That's a whole lot better than half-way decent.  Great point!

I like it and i think that the hinges add character to the point. if you can goggle paleo indian arrowheads and you will see that alot of them have flaws. Dont get me wrong you should pratice to make prefect but the beauty in the eye of the beholder.
