How many hits of TruOil do you folks like to apply?

This stuff is SHINY...I'll have to pumice it after I get enough on there. Round three and still going....

I use between 4 and 10 coats per bow.  just depends on how eager I am to start shooting it again, LOL.  :)

:D You stole my answer. I have seen many tru oiled bows that looked great but for some reason I just make a mess with that stuff and it flaked off one of my bows when I shot it. Might have been too many coats though. I know it works but for me there is better stuff out there.

You can't put too many coats of Tru-Oil on the bow.  It really doesn't build up very fast, and if you try to build it up my putting it on thick, all you get is a sticky mess.  If you don't like the shine, a wipe or two with 0000 Steel Wool tones it down, and a single touch up with the Tru-Oil brings back the glossy look when it isn't hunting season.
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

6 to 10 coats ,and then a couple of coats of satin Polly to take the shine off if I plan on hunting with it and I usually do . ;) ;D I use to use the steel wool to dull but the shine will come back ,at least it always did on mine,I steel wool lightly between coats. :) I use the rub on out of a bottle and try and let it dry 12 to 24 hours between coats depending on the weather. :)

I do just as Pappy does!!!   The quick spray of satin poly is the only way I can keep a dull finish over Tru-Oil.
