Huntworthy Productions Field Test
« on: September 27, 2010, 05:14:54 pm »
I went up to Chris Cade's in S. C. this past weekend in pursuit of some of those Whitetails he's been posting pictures of. Between the weather, ants and Full Moon it wasn't very productive, but a darn good time, like always. Thanks, Chris.

Saturday, Chris got a box in the mail with four bows from James Parker, owner of Huntworthy Productions. Between the two of us we had an assortment of Jame's (robustus) bows on hand. We spent the better part of four hours shooting and trying out these fine bows. The little 42" was one fast, compact bow. We also got Chris' Double Barrel 12' dialed in for round balls and buck shot.

Saturday we finally figured out where the deer were moving back and forth from and I got a stand set down there Sunday for an afternoon and Monday morning hunt. It had started raining Sunday morning and got worse that afternoon so I called it quits. I went back and took the stand down and drove home a day early. Eight hours of driving in the rain to Fl.

Here some pictures of Chris' cabin, Saturday night dinner of steak, venison tenderloins, Portabella mushrooms and red onions and collard greens. And some shot of James' fine shooting bows.

Nice. I'm riding up to Jame's house this weekend. Real nice fellow and certainly makes some beautiful stuff. Looking forward to getting a blank from him.

James is a very nice guy. I hope he found that eight point he shot Saturday. I know he was having trouble trailing it when all that rain started in N.C.

He told me he thought it only pentrated to the back of the broadhead? Hopefully he's only walking around with a flesh wound. Yes, we're getting a lot of much much much needed rain here in NC. Funny thing, got to talkin to the boss and another fella that comes in the office occasionally, and come to find out, they both knew James from a long time ago. Small world.

The deer he hit in the shoulder that didn't penetrate is a different one, i think. He shot the one I'm talking about Saturday afternoon and was hunting for it Saturday night and Sunday.

Gotcha. I haven't talked to him since Saturday at lunch time or so. I need to call him tonight anyway, if he hasn't chimed in, I'll ask him. Looking forward to going up there and seeing his work first hand. Can't wait to see his work first hand.

the coon mount belonged to my late grandfather.  he ran coon hounds and had several champions in his pack over the years.  this coon was the last one he had that he trained his hounds with and had it mounted when i died of old age.
