Thanks everyone! The rings are about 1/8 inch or so on this one. I have been having bad luck with tip overlays so I decided to see how small I could go on these tips without them. I got these as small as I would with overlays and have shot this bow a lot already and had no problems yet.

love the bow alan.  Currently in the process of making a black locust bow myself.  Was looking to build about the same length and around 50 lbs.  When spliting my stave from the log it got a little thin in depth.  I was wandering if you could post how thick your limbs are to see if I have enough to make the weight at that lenght or if I will have to shorten and widen the bow to get to 50 lbs before I get to far into shapeing and scraping.

Thanks guys. Hopefull, the limbs are 1/2 inch thick at the fades and 3/8 inch by mid limb.

i like it all ,great lookin bow in all respects. realy like that full draw shot.
if your not dead you are getting older so get out and shoot some arrows.
