BBI new One
« on: September 24, 2010, 08:43:21 am »
Well this one i'm pretty proud of and think it's going hunting with me. 1" Straight taper through the handle down to the tips at 3/8" 64" ntn 66" t2t Pulls 43 @26  I love the way it shoots. Fast flat and quiet. I've put about 125-150 arrows through it. Started off putting 2.5" reflex in and ended up with 3/4 " reflex. Sorry for the poor quality of pics. Camera phones just can't get the job done :( If there are any other pics you need, i'll do my best to pet them.

I must be at a bad angel too much ot the boo showing

Thanks everyone. I really like how the IPE works. Each shave off the limbs looks so nice, and love the smell of the shavings. ;D I am really surprised at how narrow and thin you can make this wood and still come out with a Strong shooter.

Rich...You can take a little credit. I like the tillering technique. Between yours and Eric's Gizmo, it helps allot

PeteDavis...The belly wood is IPE and the backing is Bamboo.

I can shave a little off the top limb if y'all think it needs it. If it's not going to last or if it would  make it blow up, I wouldn't want to chance that and get hurt.

Dude... Nice bow!  I really like that combo too, makes for a very tough bow.  Got it bookmarked for Sept Backed Bow of the Month contest.   :)

Nice bow. How thick is the backer and how thick is the Ipe? I'm curious of the ratios between the two, wondering if there is a performance difference.

2huntn  the boo backins is just under 1/8" The thickness of the IPE goes from 1" at the handle and tapers down to 1/4" at the tips. The width at the handleis 7/8"  to mid limb and tapers to 1/2" at the tips. I could have narrowed the tip a little more but just aint comfortable with thinning the tips yet.. ;D

Great looking bow.  Are you going to use cane and sharp rocks to hunt with?  Bill
