New Catfish Juggin' Video
« on: September 23, 2010, 09:31:31 pm »
Here's a new one still warm out of the oven. Me and Chris (Mechslasher) and my son Cody filmed this stuff back earlier in the summer, I just now got it put together. We're training Cody to do all the hard work while we kick back and relax. ;D

Very cool video and I can attest to the fact that those cats were mighty tasty!
Cody's made me laugh out loud.   The Benny Hill theme for the retakes was perfect.
I plan to be there too Chris but not until Saturday.

Steve, they're just free floating. We're putting them out just before dark and picking them up right after daylight, so the short lines work great at night and make it a lot easier to net the fish. We throw 'em right out in the middle of the lake sometimes and they still catch fish on that foot of line.

I thought that was a river you were fishing in, didn't realize it was a lake. Things like this make me want to retire more than ever man. 3 more months if I decide to retire now. Steve

steve, the place we're fishing is a river/lake.  it's an arm of lake thurmond, better known as clarks hill lake on savannah river between s.c. and ga., that has a slight current running through it.  the river is famous for some very large flatheads and blues.  the biggest i've seen boated was over 90 pounds.  i've hooked some on jugs that couldn't be boated.  the largest was well over 6' long and we chased it for hours but just couldn't get the net on it and it finally straightened the hook.  i'm hoping to get a 30 or 50 pounder on the line for steve and cody to "play" with.  that should be a blast!
