OCT 1- 3. KANSAS KNAP-IN, AT MAXWELL WILDLIFE REFUGE. Come join other flint knappers at scenic Maxwell Wildlife Refuge, located 6 miles north and 1 ½ miles west of Canton, Ks. Primitive camping will be available on the grounds or at McPherson State Fishing Lake 1 ½ miles west of the Headquarters area. The knap-in will be held in conjunction with the Friend’s of Maxwell Fall Rendezvous. Mountain men camps, traders, buffalo herd tours, and bluegrass music are part of the event. There will be concessions on the grounds. Usually the elk are bugling this time of year and can be heard after dark around the campground.
