I'll measure one later. I set up a nail  guage which is just a piece of tape wood around a nail so they are pretty consistent. Jawge

My current arrows have 7/16" deep nocks. 3/8" is fine also. Jawge

Ok George mine is only 1/4 inch maybe too shallow.  I need too go into bamboo joint
to make it deeper.  Thanks

Not a good idea for a self nock in bamboo the node gives you strength, if you do go into it you will need to wrap the nock and just below it, preferably with sinew (it shrinks on drying) else with good strong thread that you varnish or similar afterwards.
