opening weekend meat
« on: September 19, 2010, 08:44:51 pm »
OK. I decided to sleep this morning so by 1 o'clock i was rdy to get into the woods.
I arrived at my stand site at about 230 and got set up it was HOT 92* I was set up next to a creek just below a beaver dam and the deer were crossing the creek about 25 yards from my tree. there were bedding areas on both sides of the crossing.
I watched a otter play in the creek some, that was cool. At about 4o'clock i seen this doe coming up the creek on the other side from me. When she passed behind a large tree i stood up, She made her way down the creek and crossed right were i thought she would. I waited till she passed me and was slightly quartered away at 20 yards and i lightly bleated at her. Its all a blur after that i reached anchor and let loose and wack she tuck off and i could see my arrow hanging out the other side of her and a large red spot were the arrow had gone in.
I waited about 15 mins and climbed down the tree and headed back to my truck and changed out of my camo. After about 40 mins i went to look for her. There was very little blood and then i seen her laying 80 yards from were i had shot her. As i moved in she jumped up and stated running to my left. I pulled back found a hole in the brush and shot the arrow met its mark right behind he left front shoulder and she did a front flip and started kicking. I backed off 15 or 20 yards set down on a log and called Shanon to kill some time. After i got of the phone with him i went over to her and she had passed and thats when i tuck the 1st photo.
This Deer was killed on Ft Campbell the season here opens a week before the TN season. This was my pre season, and a good one at that now if i can do it again next weekend for the deer classic. :)

Good Shooting Jesse....
