1-part vs. 2-part glue?
« on: August 28, 2010, 11:53:13 pm »
I am trying to recycle a bamboo backing ("broken bow...you  make the call" post) by applying it to a red oak board with a good grain pattern. The bow was originally glued to the purpleheart with either TBII or III, can't really remember which one; however, it was a little too easy to remove the undamaged boo from the broken PH than I would have liked. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'd prefer a 1-part glue like the TB, but will do whatever is necessary for best results. Also important to note that I have no heatbox. Thanks guys! -Mike

Urac 185 is the best wood/wood glue and bamboo is included. You don't need a hot box to cure it especially in the summer. It will cure at room temp. 3Rivers sells it. It is a 2 part glue but is easy enough to mix and use.

I agree with Pat.  Can't go wrong with Urac.  Just mix it right and it a great 2 part glue. I even like the way it smells while you are mixing it, even though it is probably bad for you, LOL.   :P
