i just put the first two coats of tung oil on her.  how many coats do y'all think i should put on her in total?

Marius, I usually put 5 to 6 coats of Tru-Oil on the bows I make. Some use less and some more. Depends how deep you want the finish to be.   Pat

Normally i put 2-3 coats of tung-oil, then I put on shellac or a selfmixed pineresin with alcohol mixture (2-3 coats), then 1-2 coats of tung-oil and last a layer of wax. When I would use only tung-oil I will put on > 5 coats.
