osage fence posts
« on: July 20, 2010, 05:00:36 pm »
hey y'all,

this goes out to any kentucky folks out there in the community.  i am looking for any old osage orange fence posts that.  any ideas where some would be.  the reason i am asking is because i watched a youtube video about a man that only used or was using an old hedge apple fence/corner post to make a bow.  i figured that they would be nice and seasoned out.  i would be willing to travel provided that it would be easy to get but i guess for what i am wanting i should not be too particular.

The first osage I ever had was a fencepost from Missouri. It was about 60 years old and a nightmare for a first bow.

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?
